Maisie II

Maisie’s still fighting. She’s a strong stubborn girl.

I don’t know how to feel right now, there’s good and there’s bad.

The bad is that the first type of insulin she was on did nothing. And the new insulin she’s on is working very slowly and her glucose levels are still very high.

The good is that she’s perky, she’s eating, grooming herself and walking around. The vet said that other cats he’s seen in her condition are almost comatose. But she has spunk. The vet also said that other cats he’s seen in her condition would have stabilised by now. So. I’m trying to be realistic, I don’t want to convince myself she’s going to be fine, when there’s a good chance she’s not. But I’m also not going to write her off yet, she’s a feisty little thing.

Thank you for all the sweet messages and lovely comments. It means a lot that so many people are thinking of her and wishing her well. Keep sending those good vibes.

Great news!!!!! I think if she’s fighting, she deserves a chance. My in-laws cat, Merggie, fought for a really long time, she was very sick but it got to the point where she was miserable and very, very, very fragile…that’s when they decided to put her down. I think that was a good decision, but I know some people may disagree. I think Maisie is in a good place! *sending very very good vibes to her*

Oh gosh, it’s so heart breaking when a pet is unwell. The separation from them, the not knowing, and it’s impossible to explain to them that you’re trying to help them get better…Crossing fingers and toes Maisie is back in your arms soon

Yayyy!! I am happy that she is doing so well. Since reading whats happened on the SAFE Forum I have been on here daily for updates!!

I am sure she will pull through – by the sounds of things she is in no hurry to go anywhere 🙂
